About Us

Ros and Veronica: We have been working together since being students at the London College of Classical Homeopathy from where we qualified in 1992. We then embarked on a postgraduate course that involved research into new remedies. We supervised each other in the proving (double-blind drug trial) of the remedy Plutonium, a substance which is now given to patients with very deep-rooted and devastating depression, amongst other symptoms. We learned a lot; participating in such a drug trial allows practitioners to develop a first-hand understanding and respect for the remedies.

We operate a system of support where patients can be sure that we are constantly each other's locum. We have become familiar with each other's patients and style of prescribing: when one of us is unavailable, the other will cover emergency consultations. This also means we can give each other a second opinion.

We have run many workshops for patients to enable them to treat first aid situations at home, and on specific issues, such as menopause and pregnancy.

We have many patients who have been 'regulars' for years, who now just come in for an annual check-in session. After a few years, however, we realised that many of our patients had growing families with typical childhood ailments such as frequent colds and fevers as well as chronic conditions such as allergies and asthma, which require ongoing supervision. To meet these needs we set up a unique service, that we call our Family Budget Scheme (terms under Fees). Patients keep a basic remedy kit, and are able to prescribe on the spot after a telephone consultation.

We learn a lot from our patients and from clinical observation. In addition we are committed to Continuous Professional Development, the process of keeping abreast of current information, by attending seminars, supervision groups, reading periodicals and workshops.

About Ros:

Rosalind Floyd is the mother of three adult children and lives in South London. Before becoming a homeopath, she studied history at university, worked in publishing and then served as a busy National Childbirth Trust counsellor and workshop facilitator for 13 years.

Ros was introduced to homeopathy when her eldest daughter was extremely ill with recurrent tonsillitis. A neighbour suggested that instead of having the tonsillectomy, which Ros remembered from her own childhood as being highly traumatic, she could use the holistic approach of homeopathy to achieve a genuine and lasting cure. It worked brilliantly! This forced Ros to re-evaluate her attitude to health and medicine.

She studied Homeopathy in a four-year course at the London College of Classical Homeopathy, becoming a registered member of the Society of Homeopaths. She then followed a two-year course with the Dynamis School run by Jeremy Sherr, involving the proving of several key new remedies. She has more recently studied with leading Indian homeopath Rajan Sankaran following the Sensation Method. Ros is regularly invited to host workshops for community groups, and she hosts seminars for other homeopaths.

She is a wise and experienced practitioner, up to date with current developments in the field and is particularly interested in treating the behavioural problems of babies and children.

About Veronica:

Veronica started her career training to be a doctor at Guys Hospital Medical School in 1976. Always interested in deepening her understanding of ill - health, she was a founder member of 'Issues in Health Group' at Guys. It was here that she was introduced to homeopathy, when Dr. Alec Forbes, a very wise GP and homeopath, came to give a talk. This was so inspiring that she then knew that she could never limit her practice to the allopathic model and she decided to leave medical school.

Ten years of working with various child and community groups, gaining a CQSW along the way, allowed her to develop counselling skills and a love of outreach work.

Finally she came full circle and decided to train as a homeopath after realising that working therapeutically with individuals had the potential to be far more effective and fulfilling.

She continues to attend seminars and courses enhance her personal and professional development.
